Three Years Old!!!!

Michelle July 29th, 2010

We went to P.F. Chang’s for dinner on Wednesday night. The hostess took us to our table and left. I put my purse on the chair and turned to get Gavin. Gavin was pulling the chair out. I told him that I was sitting there. He says, ‘I was pulling the chair out for you, Mommy’. Uh, ok! Wow!

Weekly Vegetables

Michelle June 9th, 2010

We picked up our second week of veggies this week. They are from Seldom Seen Farms, in Danville, and a transitional organic farm. Meaning, they are working up to it. Technically, they should be considered organic by fall of 2010. (www.seldomseenfarm.com)

I have been pretty impressed with the amount of items that we received. We have received… Salad mix, Spinach, Radishes, Chard, Kale, Red Mustard Greens, Pea Shoots, Salad Turnips, Cilantro, Parsley, Arugula, and Kohlrabi.

We were so busy the first week that my mom benefited… she took all the greens. The second week… Eric and mom took the cilantro.

Playing in the Rain

Michelle May 22nd, 2010

Scott was working on his dirt bike in the garage and Gavin was supposed to be helping him. I came outside to find Gavin running in and out of the garage. He looked at me and stopped. I told him to keep running and off he went… running circles around the Pilot. He had the best time! I stripped him naked in the laundry room, tossed him in a warm shower, and dinner on the couch watching a show. He loved it!

Flower Power

Michelle May 15th, 2010

I wrote this post at least 3 times on the app on my phone and each time I posted it… Delete! It disappeared! So, I will post it from the good, old computer. It never deletes my post… knock on wood. (For the record, my computer refused to post the pictures. And, this was finished on my phone with what the computer saved. Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggghhhhh!)

Gavin and I went to the Garden Center. We needed to pick out flowers for 4 hanging baskets and 2 pots. Gavin ran up and down the aisles checking out all the flowers and vegetables. He was hollering out the colors and pointing out the pics on the vegetables. There was only 1 other customer and the employees, so he ran free. The employees were impressed by his knowledge of vegetables and he had a great time naming them off by the picture tags.

I directed Gavin to the flowers that we would be picking from and let him go to town. He picked out all of our flowers and put them on our cart. He was so excited to plant them. We got home and emptied out the truck. Gavin insisted that the orange plants had to sit in the dirt… Mommy, plants go in dirt.

I planted the baskets and got the pots ready for Gavin. He planted his flowers and watered them. Now, we just need to remember to keep watering them.

This is Daddy?!?!

Michelle April 8th, 2010

Gavin was cleaning up his playroom and talking to Daddy. I hollered in to tell him that Daddy was upstairs. He explained to me that the toy (in the picture below) was Daddy. He has his computer and coffee. And, he does… Both of them!

Instant Gratification

Michelle April 8th, 2010

This is what Scott said after completing this quickie project.

He built the frame in the garage last night. Today… laid it in the yard, attached the lining and edges, and filled with sand. Gavin climbed in as the first bag was poured. He kept getting fussy with Scott, because each new bag of sand messed up the roads for his tractor!

How Disney/Pixar Influences Children

Michelle April 7th, 2010

I walked into Gavin’s playroom and saw these tractors upside-down. I asked Gavin the reason they were turned over. He tells me that he is practicing Tractor Tipping! (If confused, watch Cars)

I think I want one!

Michelle April 6th, 2010

A car seat!

Gavin can eat in it, sleep in it, and has used it for a potty (twice). I would skip that last part. But, he makes it look comfy!

And watch movies (snack included).

Gavin has this person wrapped…

Michelle April 5th, 2010

A few weeks ago, Gavin was supposed to be taking a nap. He just would not go to sleep. Then, he decided that he wanted Uncle Eric to come and sleep with him. Scott and I called Uncle Eric. He told Gavin that he was busy and could not come over and take a nap. Gavin wanted him to come over and play later. Uncle Eric said he was not sure, and then Gavin cried. He cried big, big tears and then Uncle Eric cracked. He told Gavin that he would be by later to play. Gavin was a happy little boy!

Lookin’ at the Moon… or just trying

Michelle March 26th, 2010

It is such a nice night out. Scott got out Gavin’s telescope and they went outside to see the moon. Scott got it set up and Gavin just was not sure. Then, he wanted to see the stars. Scott was having a little trouble with the telescope and Gavin says, ‘What does the box say? Where is the box? This is terrible.’

Gavin, tell us how you really feel! My suggestion to Scott – you should test this out next time.

Big Steps

Michelle March 20th, 2010

We bought new tennis shoes and sandals yesterday… Size 9! The last pair of shoes that we bought were 7’s.

We bought tie tennis shoes… Gavin wants to learn to tie them by himself. He started working on it last night.

Beautiful Princess

Michelle March 13th, 2010

Gavin told me that he was a beautiful princess… Uncle Eric is a beautiful princess, too!
