Helpful?

November 27th, 2010

Me – Gavin, can you bring me my purse?
Gavin – Ok
Me – Be sure to grab the top and don’t dump it.
Gavin – Ok
Gavin – Hey mom, Wat up? (Yes, not what, but wat)
Me – What?
Gavin – What is this? (As he is holding the Hot Wheels Wii game that I had bought)
Me – Why were you in my purse?
Gavin – I wasn’t. It just fell out.
Me – Oh, really.
Gavin – Your wallet fell out and your paycheck, and my game. (My paycheck was NOT in there)
Me – Your game?!?! That is one of your birthday presents. It is not yours until after your birthday. You have to act surprised when you open it.
Gavin – (Starts practicing surprise faces)

Then he put everything back in my purse and brought it to me. He is a funny kid!

Bingo Visits The Groomer

November 24th, 2010

It was time for a hair cut. Life had gotten in the way and Bingo had not been to the groomer for a bit. Scott dropped him off and got ‘The Speech’. ‘The Speech’ includes guilt, fault, and what you did wrong… Bingo was matted! They had Scott sign a waiver that Bingo might get bruised during grooming. I was worried about what I was going to pick up. He did fine. He got a buzz cut. He still looks cute, but I need to be sure to get him groomed more often.

Time flies…

November 22nd, 2010

I told Scott that I needed to put up some pictures and update our site. Holy Cow! It has been 4 months. I can’t believe that summers is gone, fall is on it’s way out, summer is sneaking in for a week or so, and winter wants his months back. Well, I am going to try to update with some new pictures in the next week. Every part of me, wants to post from July forward, but I may never finish. So, against every fiber of my being… I will post from present to past. It hurts just to admit that I am going to do it!

See ya soon!

Three Years Old!!!!

July 29th, 2010

We went to P.F. Chang’s for dinner on Wednesday night. The hostess took us to our table and left. I put my purse on the chair and turned to get Gavin. Gavin was pulling the chair out. I told him that I was sitting there. He says, ‘I was pulling the chair out for you, Mommy’. Uh, ok! Wow!

Weekly Vegetables

June 9th, 2010

We picked up our second week of veggies this week. They are from Seldom Seen Farms, in Danville, and a transitional organic farm. Meaning, they are working up to it. Technically, they should be considered organic by fall of 2010. (www.seldomseenfarm.com)

I have been pretty impressed with the amount of items that we received. We have received… Salad mix, Spinach, Radishes, Chard, Kale, Red Mustard Greens, Pea Shoots, Salad Turnips, Cilantro, Parsley, Arugula, and Kohlrabi.

We were so busy the first week that my mom benefited… she took all the greens. The second week… Eric and mom took the cilantro.

Fun in the Sun

May 23rd, 2010

Gavin loves to swim. And, we have wonderful neighbors that have a pool and love to have Gavin down to play. Mark and Lisa are fantastic and their youngest daughter, Katie, loves Gavin. She goes to Ball State and stops by our house to see Gavin every time that she is home. What 20 year old does that…

This is better than wearing floaties!

Time to get dry

Playing in the Rain

May 22nd, 2010

Scott was working on his dirt bike in the garage and Gavin was supposed to be helping him. I came outside to find Gavin running in and out of the garage. He looked at me and stopped. I told him to keep running and off he went… running circles around the Pilot. He had the best time! I stripped him naked in the laundry room, tossed him in a warm shower, and dinner on the couch watching a show. He loved it!

Flower Power

May 15th, 2010

I wrote this post at least 3 times on the app on my phone and each time I posted it… Delete! It disappeared! So, I will post it from the good, old computer. It never deletes my post… knock on wood. (For the record, my computer refused to post the pictures. And, this was finished on my phone with what the computer saved. Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggghhhhh!)

Gavin and I went to the Garden Center. We needed to pick out flowers for 4 hanging baskets and 2 pots. Gavin ran up and down the aisles checking out all the flowers and vegetables. He was hollering out the colors and pointing out the pics on the vegetables. There was only 1 other customer and the employees, so he ran free. The employees were impressed by his knowledge of vegetables and he had a great time naming them off by the picture tags.

I directed Gavin to the flowers that we would be picking from and let him go to town. He picked out all of our flowers and put them on our cart. He was so excited to plant them. We got home and emptied out the truck. Gavin insisted that the orange plants had to sit in the dirt… Mommy, plants go in dirt.

I planted the baskets and got the pots ready for Gavin. He planted his flowers and watered them. Now, we just need to remember to keep watering them.

This is Daddy?!?!

April 8th, 2010

Gavin was cleaning up his playroom and talking to Daddy. I hollered in to tell him that Daddy was upstairs. He explained to me that the toy (in the picture below) was Daddy. He has his computer and coffee. And, he does… Both of them!

Instant Gratification

April 8th, 2010

This is what Scott said after completing this quickie project.

He built the frame in the garage last night. Today… laid it in the yard, attached the lining and edges, and filled with sand. Gavin climbed in as the first bag was poured. He kept getting fussy with Scott, because each new bag of sand messed up the roads for his tractor!

How Disney/Pixar Influences Children

April 7th, 2010

I walked into Gavin’s playroom and saw these tractors upside-down. I asked Gavin the reason they were turned over. He tells me that he is practicing Tractor Tipping! (If confused, watch Cars)
