Gavin has been able to get his pants, underwear, and socks off all by himself. He has had a hang up with getting both arms out of his shirt. He can get one arm out and then can not get the other one out. Today, he was able to get his shirt off by himself. So, he stripped down naked and put clean clothes on. The only help he needed was the snap on his pants. What a GREAT job!
Gavin was supposed to bring something to class that started with an ‘I’. It could be an item to bring or a picture. He chose an iguana. Daddy printed out 2 pictures for him. He was excited. Gavin looked at me and said, ‘Next time we are at the zoo, I want to pet an iguana’. I told him that I did not want to pet an iguana. He says, ‘You can hide behind Daddy’.
Waking up from nap on Sunday, Gavin says, ‘I don’t drink beer’. Good job… You are 3… Mommy and Daddy would be in jail!
We got this Christmas Card from the Kulkarni’s who have seen Gavin’s infatuation with Gingerbread Men. We were eating dinner, Gavin points at the card, and says, ‘Daddy, you look like that with your shirt off’. We both about spit out our food.
Oh, out of the mouth of babes!
Oh, the sacrifices that we make as parents! Scott goes above and beyond to make these little balls for Gavin. Gavin loves to play with them and will request Daddy to make them. Scott has to eat LOTS of Hershey Kisses to make these balls… Oh, the sacrifices!
We asked Gavin if he wanted to stay home and fix breakfast or go to a restaurant. He wanted to get waffles at a restaurant (He is his Daddy’s boy). So, here we are with a HUGE waffle and Gavin wants Daddy’s food… Huevos Rancheros.
A bite of black beans, bite of waffle, bite of black beans, bite of waffles… Makes for a happy 3 year old!
Mommy had a hankering for some seafood. So, off to Red Lobster we went. The kid’s menu had mostly fried foods, which Gavin will barely touch. We asked the waiter to switch out the fried shrimp for grilled shrimp and that with a baked potato made for a happy boy.
Until… Daddy got his food. Daddy had jambalaya… sausage, rice, and spicy things. These are some of Gavin’s favorite things. He lost interest in his plate and all eyes were on Daddy’s. After Gavin had a few bites, Scott just gave him the jambalaya. I mixed in his shrimp and… all gone! He loves spicy food, shrimp, sausage, and rice. The meal could only have been better if he could have gotten some black beans and black olives.
Daddy got some cuddle time in before the food arrived. They colored and played tic-tac-toe.
I was trying to play around with adding videos to the site so I thought I’d practice on a few of our favorites. Gavin loves to dance. If you haven’t already seen these they are worth a quick watch. Funny stuff.
The first one is from awhile ago in the restaurant Cheeseburger in Paradise.
The music is hard to hear in the below movie, but he was getting down to the music on one of his toys.
Daddy had to ‘personalize’ Gavin’s desk. He lowered the keyboard tray so that it was easier for Gavin to use. Gavin (and Bingo) were big helpers. Gavin helped to hold things, Bingo helped measure, and Gavin put all his tools away when he was done. Which is more than I can say for his dad. =)
